We recently took part in Lincoln’s first NanoDays event hosted by Nebraska EPSCoR, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Materials Research Science and Engineering Center and the Nebraska Center for Materials and Nanoscience. This free event was held on April 2 from 1pm-4pm at Westfield Gateway Shopping Center. As part of the program the public learned about Nanotechnology as well as interactive games and activities were performed that demonstrate the special and unexpected properties found at the nanoscale and the promise that nanoscience holds for transforming our daily lives. and the job opportunities. The goal of the event was to bring university researchers together with science educators to create unique new learning experiences for both children and adults to explore the miniscule world of atoms, molecules, and nanoscale forces. Here are a few pictures from the program and from other group outreach activities.
